Welcome to the All Party Parliamentary Group for Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.
“Every year, at least seven thousand children are born with lifelong physical, behavioural or cognitive disabilities as a result of alcohol consumption during pregnancy.
It is my hope that by forming the APPG for Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, colleagues will have a clear platform from which to influence Government thinking: to raise public awareness of the dangers of drinking during pregnancy; to support children damaged by alcohol during pregnancy; and to reduce the incidence of this tragically avoidable condition.” – Bill Esterson MP, Chair of APPG for FASD
Through research and regular events this APPG will offer advice and recommendations to parliament and government on key policies impacting pregnant women, the foetus and those affected by FASD in the UK.
We will be led by our Members and Officers;
Bill Esterson MP, Chair
Fiona Bruce MP, Vice Chair
